The City of Fayetteville, in coordination with the Ozark Off-Road Cyclists, constructed a bicycle skills course and made improvements to the natural surface trails at Lake Fayetteville North Shore Park. The two skills courses consist of an earthen trail tread similar to the existing soft-surface trail, and a series of ridable arches and ramps designed to challenge and improve control skills for cyclists.
Why is it important?
The skills courses provides a safe environment for new riders to practice their off-road cycling skills before jumping into longer rides on the natural surface trails around the lake. The natural surface trail improvements also addressed several areas where the trail experienced erosion and corrected these problem areas.
