Bicycle Friendly Businesses



The League of American Bicyclists designates bicycle friendly  businesses that meet a set of developed bicycle standards. Fayetteville leads all other cities in the state in the number of businesses designated as bicycle friendly.  Apply to the program and see how bicycling can create more energized, alert, and productive employees while also decreasing your healthcare costs.  The City's Bicycle Programs Coordinator can help you get started!

PACE - Property Assessed Clean Energy



The City of Fayetteville has created, by ordinance, Energy Improvement District No. 1 (Reference Appendix A) that is authorized to create special tax assessments for financing renewable energy, energy efficiency and water conservation improvements on real property. This was made possible by a program called A2E2 (Arkansas Advanced Energy Equity).

Greenway Initiative



The Greenway initiative is a program and certification process sponsored by the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce that will identify, certify, and encourage businesses to do business the 'green way'. The program’s purpose is to assist Chamber member organizations to implement best practices for green and sustainable business. The Chamber, the Sam Walton School of Businesses, and the University of Arkansas Applied Sustainability Center work together to promote the program.
