1. Install, configure, administer and tune database management system software. Monitor system performance; implement changes as necessary.
2. Analyze business service areas and develop conceptual and logical information and database models to be used for actual information system databases.
3. Provide implementation, architecture, and operational support of purchased database application software, including financial management systems and work management systems..
4. Develop and maintain integration and interfaces among the City’s Relation Database Management Systems (RDMS).
5. Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans.
6. Research and analyze complex technical problems, database-related system errors, or application software problems. Isolate problem areas. Recommend and/or develop and implement solutions.
7. Develop and implement physical database designs to ensure efficient and reliable information access.
8. Work with users and other IT staff to develop detailed data models; provide guidance and expertise in the development of database models.
9. Research and analyze upgrades and service packs of database management and operating system software. Recommend, install, or participate in installation of upgrades and service packs on multiple servers. Assists with preparing applications for upgrades when necessary.
10. Maintain development, test, and production RDBMS environments.
11. Create procedures and maintain various database related documents such as manuals and programmers handbooks.
12. Participate in design and support of regional shared databases, including geographical (GIS) data.
13. Research current and future trends in computer technology generally, and database technology specifically. Provide expertise and direction on the appropriate application of new database technology.
14. Implement and administer advanced SQL Server functionalities such as Data Transformation Services, Replication Services, SQL Server Job Scheduling.
15. Perform other related duties as assigned.1. Administer and enforce Chapter 167 of the Unified Development Code on Tree Preservation. Attend Planning Meetings and work closely with Planning Staff.
2. Execute short and long range plans for canopy preservation and reducing risks related to hazardous trees found on public land according to City’s Urban Forestry Management Plan.
3. Coordinate removal, pruning, and planting of trees with the Forestry Services Crew.
4. Utilizes electronic Work Orders System to schedule work orders for trimming and removal of trees.
5. Review all development plans for criteria required by Tree Preservation Ordinance.
6. Respond and advise citizens regarding the need for preservation or removal of trees in sensitive areas.
7. Inspect development sites for issuance of grading permit, and certificate of occupancy.
8. Responsible for purchasing trees to be planted in street right of ways, parks and public land areas.
9. Organize and promote the Arbor Day Celebration and other events related to Urban Forestry Program.

1. Perform pre and post trip inspections on a daily basis.

1. Responsible for operating a communications console and related equipment to dispatch police, fire personnel and after hour city on-call staff in response to request for assistance in emergency situations in accordance with established departmental procedures and policies.
2. Main Police Channel: Dispatch and monitor all radio traffic generated by Police Personnel related to calls for service and self-initiated activity. Includes directing the net during emergency situations and being able to determine when calls should be held for cross beat dispatching versus calls that have priority.
3. Fire Dispatch Channel: Dispatch and monitor all radio traffic generated by Fire Personnel related to calls for service and self-initiated activity. Fire incidents require several tasks to be done at the same time, i.e. locating hydrant information, weather information, monitoring on scene times, paging notifications when policy dictates, etc.
4. Police B Channel: Information channel which handles all informational request from officers to include driver’s license checks, criminal history checks, vehicle checks, want and warrants checks from in-house computer, calls for a wrecker, incident number and times, etc. This channel handles non-emergency police radio traffic during emergency situations when the main police channel has the net directed.
5. 911 Public Safety Answering Point : Answer all 911 calls for City of Fayetteville including medical calls. Goal is to answer within 6 seconds. Must know procedures for call taking and be able to deal with callers who might be irate, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, obscene, suicidal and mentally impaired. Must know procedure for adding on the language line, contacting various emergency agencies such as poison control, and other agencies not in our jurisdiction. Must be able to interpret map data when a wireless call is received. Responsible for recording all 911 calls for statistical purposes.
6. Citywide Channel: Dispatches and monitors this channel for after hour city emergency calls for Animal Services, Meter, Water/Sewer, and Transportation etc. Responsible for monitoring this channel for traffic from all city agencies. Must know each division’s department’s policy for emergency calls. Must be able to notify various contacts for these departments depending on their needs, i.e. Arkansas One Call, Arkansas Highway Department, etc.
7. Police Department Business Lines: Must be able to answer this line within 3 rings. This responsibility requires transferring of calls from other agencies or departments, answering questions regarding civil matters, handling irate, drunk, obscene, suicidal and mentally impaired callers in a professional manner. Dealing with multiple phone calls virtually at the same time. Must be able to answer questions on a variety of topics and/or find out where to get the answers, i.e. related to special events in town, weather, other agencies, business and address locations, etc.
8. Enter stolen property and wanted persons into the Arkansas Crime Information Center System. Validate all records entered by following policies created by ACIC. Second party review of all entries.
9. Update informational books kept in dispatch such as position books, disaster book, memo book, fire book; pre-arrival information kept in the AS400; special instructions, this is information on who to call after hours in case of emergency on all businesses in Fayetteville.
10. Maintain criminal history logs, which are kept for audit purposes; trespass log (this is for when officers notify dispatch that a person was warned of criminal trespass and used not only by the officers but also the prosecuting attorneys office; extra patrol log) These are requested by citizens for extra patrol in a particular reasons such as out of town, traffic problems, etc. This log lets officers know where these requests are so they can be checked. Briefing log: dispatchers log information items for officers to read about variety of topics such stolen vehicles, officer safety items, etc.
11. Maintain active Stolen Vehicle list to make it easer for officer to know what vehicles to look for when patrolling.
12. MSDS book: required to log any product used in dispatch and what contents are contained in the product i.e. cleaning products, etc.
13. Enter 911 Stats: allows dispatch to keep up with the number of 911 calls received and the reason for the call.
14. Record Maintenance:such as making sure names are attached properly, addresses are entered without overrides, etc.

Camp Counselors: We are seeking applicants who are good with children, athletic and enjoy being outdoors. Counselors will be responsible for supervision and instruction during tennis, soccer, outdoor adventure, swim and drama camps during the weeks of June 16 July 18. Position begins June 1. On the job training will be provided weekly as needed. Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check. Hours 8am -1pm M-F. Salary is $8.00 per hour.
