1. Ability to operate dump truck.
2. Assist with hand labor for asphalt or other material as needed.
3. Proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
4. Operate concrete saws to make necessary cuts in order to continue work flow.
5. Traffic control directing and flagging of vehicles.
6. Operate construction equipment as needed.
7. Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months.
8. Assist with laying pipe as needed.
9. Operate other tools as needed: compacter and street saws.
10. Gather supplies and equipment needed for daily assignments.
11. Install mains for both water and sewer.
12. Install water and sewer taps as needed.
13. Repair water and sewer leaks.
14. Serves 24/7 on call duty as well and monthly call back rotation duty and serves during holiday coverage requirements.
15. Maintain truck and equipment for service, cleanliness, order and hydration.
16. Maintain all related tools.
17. Check oil in truck and fuel level in all equipment.
18. Drive backhoe and dump truck as required.
19. Perform manual labor in the use of a shovel as required. Execute all actions to protect the public health and safety in accordance with all applicable water and sewer regulationsHigh school diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience. Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Arkansas Driver’s License with tanker endorsement within six months of employment. Must obtain an Arkansas Class III Water Distribution License and Arkansas Class I Wastewater License within two years of employment. Prefer Arkansas Highway Work Zone Traffic Safety License. Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information customers, and the general public.Prefer proficiency in the use of backhoe, dump truck, service truck, air compressor, Mini-x, track hoe, trench boxes, Dozer, concrete truck, sewer wash truck, tap machine and core drill. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet/and or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; confined space; risk of electrical shock; and risk of vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
