Book Donations Needed For Charlie Brown Book Sale

The students of Vandergriff Elementary are collecting used books of all types for their annual Charlie Brown Book Sale.  The event is the single largest annual fundraiser for the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.  The sale was started over ten years ago by Vandergriff teacher, Sherri Wheeler, who does the event in honor of a chocolate lab she adopted from the City of Fayetteville Animal Shelter.  The dog, named Charlie Brown, is now 11 years old and is a big a celebrity at Vandergriff.

Gently used children’s and adult books may be dropped off at the front office of the school or at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.  The sale will be held May 22, 23 and 24 at Vandergriff Elementary.  Hardbacks are sold at one dollar and paperback are only fifty cents.  The sale has raised $9,650 over the past two years for the Shelter.
