Board of Adjustments

Description

The Board of Adjustments was established by Ordinance No. 1747 on June 29, 1970 and then revised by ordinance No. 4099 on June 16, 1998. The purpose of the board is to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is error or ambiguity in any order, requirement, decision, interpretation, or determination made by the City Planner in the enforcement of Zoning Chapter 160-164.

Membership

The Board shall be composed of seven members as follows:

• Seven members from the public-at-large

Appointment

Vacancies on the Board are filled by appointment from the governing body.

Public Notification

A legal ad is placed in the local newspaper 15 days prior to the meeting. Meetings are published weekly by the City Clerk on the weekly meetings list which is distributed to the media representatives with the press boxes in the City Clerk's office and released via the Internet.

Meeting Times

Regular meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 3:45 p.m. in the City Administration Building.
