Personal Statement
"It is one of my greatest honors and responsibilities to have been elected to serve on the Fayetteville City Council. I have had a long-time love affair with our city and am delighted to have the time and energy to give back. I hope to be a voice for the people, particularly those who may not feel that they are heard. I am beholden to no one but you, the citizens, and my conscience."

Graduate of Fayetteville High School; graduate of the University of Arkansas; taught for 21 years, the last seven at Jefferson Elementary
Personal Information
I am married to Nate Allen, Arkansas Razorback sportswriter and have two grown step-children. My hobbies, fortunately, include Razorback sports, spending time with my friends, our precious little grandsons, and our treasured dogs. I like competitive games such as Bridge and Trivial Pursuit. I am hooked on my beloved Fayetteville.
Community Service
- Fayetteville Planning Commission, I served six years with two as secretary.
- Woodland Neighborhood Association Founder.
- Fayetteville Council of Neighborhoods, I have been involved with this organization since its inception, serving two years as vice president and two years as president.
- City Sidewalk and Trails Committee, served three years.
- Founder of the Golden Deed Award, an award given to an individual who has gone above and beyond to make Fayetteville a better place to work and live. Medallions for recipients are mounted on the rail surrounding the Old Post Office.
- Fayetteville Beauty Mark Founder, this award is given through FCON to recognize businesses that have made special efforts to beautify their establishment and thus, Fayetteville.
- Saint James United Methodist Church Member, serving as its Administrative Council Secretary.

My Key Issues
- Maintaining our diversity
- Workforce housing
- Harmonious infill without spot zoning
- Retaining the integrity of our older neighborhoods and protecting the places that belong to all of Fayetteville such as the Square and Dickson Street
- Work with the Fayetteville School District to protect neighborhood schools
- Improve infrastructure and sidewalks in Ward 2, the oldest and most walkable ward
- Continue to look at methods of traffic calming
