Fayetteville Highlighted as One of the Most Beautiful Cities in the United States

01/07/2013

Parade Magazine highlighted Fayetteville, Arkansas, as one of the most beautiful cities in the nation. Parade provides information by America in Bloom, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting beautification programs across the U.S., and its 2012 winners of their prestigious national awards program. Judges spent two days touring each participating community and meeting municipal officials, residents, and volunteers, including Cindi Cope, Marilyn Heifner, and Mayor Lioneld Jordan. Cities were evaluated on seven criteria: overall impression, community involvement, environmental efforts, heritage preservation, urban forestry, landscaped areas, and floral displays. Fayetteville won the most beautiful town award for cities in the United States with a population of 50,001-100,000. The story can be accessed at http://www.parade.com/news/2012/09/28-where-are-americas-most-beautiful-towns.html. Also, P. Allen Smith highlights Fayetteville in a radio program of his visit of Northwest Arkansas, which can be heard at http://www.pallensmith.com/radio/?p=367.
