FAYETTEVILLE FORWARD IS A GREAT WAY TO CONTRIBUTE TO COMMUNITY - JOIN TODAY!

11/13/2012

The Fayetteville Forward program is an innovative, collaboration-based economic development initiative that engages the entire community in creating an action plan to build and foster economic development in the community.  Its innovative community collaboration successes over the years led Fayetteville Forward to receive the 2010 Southern Growth Policies Board’s Innovator Award, Arkansas Community Development Society’s 2010 Innovative Community Development Program, and Arkansas Business Journal’s 2011 Cities of Distinction Honorable Mention in the Quality of Life category.

Fayetteville Forward has had many successes, with the most important success being a detailed economic development plan for the City of Fayetteville that was created by over 600 community participants from 334 different stakeholder groups. There are 11 different Action Groups that you can choose from to join: Creative Economy, Economic Incentives & Job Growth, Green Economy, Healthcare, Historic & Heritage Resources, Inclusion, Land Use & Green Infrastructure, Local Food, Public Education, Transportation, and Workforce.

Fayetteville Forward is an opportunity for anyone to get involved in driving economic development in Fayetteville. If you are interested in finding out more about Fayetteville Forward or joining an action group, we encourage you to contact the City of Fayetteville’s new Community Outreach Coordinator Dede Peters at 575-8302 or dpeters@ci.fayetteville.ar.us.
