Staying Informed

AccessFayetteville provides numerous ways to stay informed about your local government.

All Roads are Open Except for Persimmon Street

Due to extreme weather conditions yesterday, certain roads required closing due to flooding and damage caused from flooding. City crews worked around the clock and all roads are now open for travel, with the exception of Persimmon Street on the north side of the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant, which remains closed today for repair.

More rain is anticipated for Wednesday, so the City is continuing to prepare for already saturated areas, high streams and waterways. During these times of high water volumes, please continue to use extreme caution when traveling. If you approach a road with running or standing water, avoid driving through it.

For weather-related emergencies, please contact City of Fayetteville Dispatch at 587-3555, extension 1. However, if you are experiencing an immediate emergency, please call 911.

For regularly-updated road construction information (whether in emergencies or not) you can check "The Cone Patrol" on the City of Fayetteville's website, which is located on the City's homepage carousel. "The Cone Patrol" is a list of street or lane closures and periodic traffic delays due to construction. If you wish to be placed on the City Clerk's public announcements email list, you may request to be on the public notification e-mail list through the City Clerk's Office by sending an e-mail to and requesting to be placed on the public information notification list.
