Business License Program

All businesses in Fayetteville must obtain a Business License  unless the business qualifies for an exemption. To find out if your business must obtain a license, please refer to the “Do I Qualify” link to the right.

Existing Business

An existing business that has already obtained a license will need to renew their business license between September 1 and October 31 of each year. All licenses may be renewed online even if you completed a paper application the first year. To begin the renewal process, please use the "Online Application" link to the right.

If you prefer to renew your business license in person, our office is located at 125 W. Mountain, and our hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The cost of renewal is $15.00. Late fees do apply for applications not renewed by October 31. Please contact the City Planning Department at 479-575-8267, if there have been substantial changes to the business description, in order to determine if a "new" license is required.

New Business

A business can submit a printed application with payment by mail or in person, or a business can submit its application along with payment online for a discounted rate. To begin the application process, please use the "Online Application" link to the right.

- The fee for a new non-home based business is $35.00. If you submit the application online we give a discounted rate of $32.00.

- The fee for a new home based business is $22.00. If you submit the application online we give a discounted rate of $20.00.
