Highway 265 Lane Restrictions in Fayetteville

8 Weeks of Lane Restrictions

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has informed the City of Fayetteville of planned lane restrictions related to work on State Highway 265 (Crossover Road) in Fayetteville.

Over the next 8 weeks, traffic on Highway 265 will be restricted to one lane at isolated locations from Highway 45 to Joyce Boulevard to allow for the installation of drainage structures.  The restrictions are expected to be in place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  When the restrictions are in place, both northbound and southbound traffic will alternate using one travel lane.  Motorists will be directed through the work zone by flaggers.  Adjustment of the times and dates of the restriction may become necessary due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

The work necessitating the restriction is part of a project to widen approximately 2.2 miles of Highway 265 from three lanes to a four-lane divided roadway with a raised median between highway 45 and Joyce Boulevard.

In September 2011, the Arkansas State Highway Commission awarded a contract, in the amount of $12.6 million, to Nabholz Construction of Rogers for the project.  Work on the project is expected to be completed in early 2014.

Motorists are urged to use care and think ahead when traveling through the work zone.  Motorists are encouraged to obey the posted speed limits and other regulatory signing; to leave room between them and other vehicles, to be aware of road conditions in front of them, and to anticipate the unexpected need to stop or reduce speed substantially.
