Recycle Something Media Campaign Receives Awards
The City of Fayetteville Media Services Division recently received awards for video work on the Recycle Something media campaign in the 2014 Communicator Awards. All three City of Fayetteville entries received awards:
"Recycle Team Six-Extended Version" received the 2014 Gold Award of Excellence in the category Online Video - Public Service
"Recycle Team Six-Extended Version" also received the 2014 Gold Award of Excellence for Editing; and
"Recycle Something-Imaginary Playground" was awarded a 2014 Silver Award of Distinction in the category Commercials - Public Service
"It’s great to see the staff of the Media Services Division receive recognition for the quality and professionalism they bring to their work. I’m proud to compare our work to any in the nation," stated Fritz Gisler, City of Fayetteville Director of Media Services. Mayor Lioneld Jordan remarked "The City’s Recycle Something campaign kicked off last year to increase education about recycling and encourage increased recycling in Fayetteville. The work of our Media Services staff on this awareness and education campaign was instrumental, and I’m glad to see the in-house produced videos by our City staff receiving these national awards and recognition."
With over 6,000 entries received from across the United States and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.
The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
