There is a growing demand for food bank services in Northwest Arkansas as a result of decreasing donations and an increasing population needing assistance. Mayor Jordan is encouraging Fayetteville residents to donate canned goods to local food banks - through a sustaining food drive - "With a Can We Can!"  That’s why we are calling this the We Can! food drive.

Sustaining our local food banks is really very simple and affordable. Each time you go to the grocery store buy 1 or 2 cans for the food banks. Then drop those cans off at the Mayor’s table at the Farmer’s Market, at your area fire station on the first weekend each month, or any of the other locations list below. There will be several drop-off locations throughout town including City Hall and each of the Fayetteville Fire Stations. Residents can begin dropping their donations at any of the following Fayetteville locations beginning Monday June 1, 2009.

 We Can!  Drop Off Locations:

City Hall - 113 West Mountain lobby
All City Fire Stations - 1st weekend of the month
PEG Building - 101 West Rock St
Parks & Recreation Offices - 1455 S Happy Hollow Rd
Mayor’s table at Farmer’s Market on the Square - Saturday mornings

More drop off locations will be added later.
