Entertainment District Parking Plan

ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT PARKING PROGRAM

The City of Fayetteville is working diligently to improve downtown parking services by implementing a pay parking program in the Entertainment District.  By the week of August 16th, the public parking lots and on-street parking spaces in the Entertainment District will take on a new look.  All of the on-street parking spaces and Lot 55 spaces (behind Common Grounds) will be numbered for ease in using the pay stations that will be located at most street corners.  The 3 public lots surrounding the Walton Arts Center (WAC Lot, South Lot and East Lot) will be gate controlled to allow patrons to pay for the actual amount of time parked by utilizing a pay-on-foot station before returning to their vehicle or at the exit gates.  For added convenience, there will be a pay-on-foot station also located in the Walton Arts Center lobby.

This complex program will include providing customer service staff in the Entertainment District during the evenings and weekends to provide helpful information about the area and provide assistance to patrons looking for parking.  The parking program will also provide a residential parking program geared toward protecting adjacent neighborhoods from parking infiltration from transient parkers.

By mid October, the City will implement a Reservation System that will allow patrons to go online and reserve a parking space in advance.  This added convenience will be very valuable to those visiting shows at the Walton Arts Center and area merchants, and have the comfort and assurance of knowing they will have a convenient parking space when they arrive.

In the coming weeks, the City plans to visit with property owners in the area that have privately owned parking lots, and offer parking management services for their properties.  This would allow a consistent method of enforcement in the area and eliminate towing and immobilization as their primary means of enforcement.

Please feel free to download the attached documents that provide helpful information about the various aspects of the program and check back often for new updates.
