How do I reserve a park?
Fayetteville Parks and Pavilions can be reserved free of charge. To reserve a park, please contact us.
Which parks have electricity available?
Wilson Park, Walker Park, Gulley Park, Veterans Memorial and North Shore Parks at Lake Fayetteville have electrical outlets.
What facilities are accessible?
Residents of all abilities are invited to participate and utilize any Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Division programs or facilities. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate the needs of each individual.
Which parks have volleyball courts?
Volleyball nets are available on the sand volleyball courts at Wilson Park, Walker Park, Gulley Park, Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Fayetteville, and Red Oak Park. Volleyball leagues are formed in both summer and winter. For information on adult volleyball leagues call (479) 444-3471 or visit Programs & Special Events.
Do I need a license to fish at city lakes?

Yes. Licenses have to be obtained through the State of Arkansas at sporting goods outlets, etc. Lake Fayetteville, Lake Sequoyah, and Lake Wilson are open to the public throughout the year from sunrise to sunset. Gates are closed each day from sunset to sunrise. Each lake is closed Thanksgiving Day and from December 24 through January 14. Which parks have walking trails?

Gulley Park (1.5 mi.), Wilson Park (.9 mi.), Gordon Long Park (.66 mi.), Frisco Trail (.43 mi.) Walker Park Trail (.7 mi), Walker Senior Trail (.47 mi.) Mudcreek Trail (1.7 mi.), Red Oak Park Trail (.21 mi.), and Raven Trail (.3 mi.) feature hard surface trails. Natural trails can be found at Finger Park (.6 mi.), Gregory Park (.6 mi.), Lake Wilson (2.56 mi.), Lake Fayetteville (5.5 mi.), Trammel Park (.19 mi.), and Red Oak Park (.25 mi.).

How do I find out if a game or special event has a rained-out status?
The decision on Parks and Recreation Division Programs and Special Events activities is not made until 3:00 p.m. If weather conditions worsen after the 3:00 p.m. decision, participants are encouraged to call back for update information. Call the parks information line at (479) 443-7275. For information regarding Walker Park youth baseball games status, call (479) 442-4545 and for information regarding White River Baseball Complex games call (479) 521-7897.
Does the Parks and Recreation Division have any pavilions?
The largest pavilions are located at Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Fayetteville and Walker Park which can accommodate 100 people. Smaller pavilions are available at Davis Park, Finger Park, Gregory Park, Lake Wilson, Walker Park North, Wilson Park and North Shore Park at Lake Fayetteville. There is also a gazebo located at Gulley Park and Craft Park. For information about reserving these facilities, please call (479) 444-3471.
Where are the closest campgrounds and cabins?
Currently the City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Division does not offer camping facilities. Contact the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism at 1-800-NATURAL or the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce at (479) 521-1710 for more information.
Why does my dog have to be on a leash?
City of Fayetteville ordinance requires that all dogs be leashed and that citizens are required to clean up after their pets.
What are the Wilson Park Swimming Pool hours and how much does it cost?
Regular summer hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Fees, programs, and additional information can be found on the Wilson Pool page.
When does the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meet?
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board traditionally meets the first Monday of each month. All Board meetings are held in the City Administration Building, 113 W Mountain Street, in the suite indicated or as otherwise noted on the weekly public meetings list. Special meetings are held as needed and usually are conducted on-site.
