Celebration of Trees

03/26/2008

Only one shrub per resident will be allowed.

On April 5, the City of Fayetteville, Fayetteville Parks and Recreation and the Tree and Landscape Advisory Committee will host their annual Arbor Day Celebration of Trees. Tree distribution will begin at 7:00am in front of the Fayetteville Town Center on the Downtown Fayetteville Square. More than 1,200 trees and shrubs will be given away in coordination with the opening day of the Farmer's Market.

In order to recieve your distribution, you must show proof of residency. Please bring a copy of a water bill or a drivers license to recieve your two FREE contaninerized plants. Only one shrub per resident will be allowed. The species to choose from this year include: sky pencil holly, sugar mapel, sawtooth oak, eastern redbud, henrys garnet sweetspire, snowflake mockorange, nanho blue butterfly bush, and blue muffin viburnum. Most of these species were specifically chosen for their attractant qualities to various birds and butterflies.

For more information about each of these species, please download the following document that details each tree and shrub available during the celebration.
