Fayetteville Parks and Recreation is excited to host the second and final "Dive In Movie" at Wilson Park Pool on Friday, July 25. On this night, "Surfs Up" will be shown in an event that is free to the public. Gates open at 7:30, with the movie beginning at approximately 8:30. This event is made possible by a very generous donation from the Fayetteville Firefighters Association.
Fayetteville Parks and Recreation and the Fayetteville Advertising and Promotions Commission will team up to host the United States Specialty Sports Association's Youth Slow Pitch Softball World Series. The Tournament will begin Thursday, July 17 and is tentatively scheduled to conclude on Sunday, July 20. All games will be played at Lake Fayetteville Softball Complex and Gary Hampton Softball Complex.

Fayetteville Parks and Recreation is proud to announce the Wilson Park Swimming Pool will open on Saturday, June 7 at 12:00pm. Wilson Pool, Fayetteville's only municipal swimming pool, offers a wide variety of swimming programs for the public. Programs include open swim, instructional swim, family swim and adult lap swim. Prices of admission are $2 for adults and $1 for children.

On April 5, the City of Fayetteville, Fayetteville Parks and Recreation and the Tree and Landscape Advisory Committee will host their annual Arbor Day Celebration of Trees. Tree distribution will begin at 7:00am in front of the Fayetteville Town Center on the Downtown Fayetteville Square. More than 1,200 trees and shrubs will be given away in coordination with the opening day of the Farmer's Market.
Fayetteville Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Artists of Northwest Arkansas to host the 4th Annual Wilson Park Artwalk Saturday September 15, 2007 from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. This event features 50 of the area’s top artists who will set up exhibits along the trail at Wilson Park, allowing for citizens and spectators to see numerous paintings and a variety of other types of art work. Pieces will be for sale to the public with a portion of the proceeds benefiting public art projects in Fayetteville’s Parks.

Earlier this year, the United States Specialty Sports Association referred to Fayetteville Parks and Recreation as the top Department in the New South Division ( the New South Division consists of Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama). However, Fayetteville Parks and Recreation may have just received their most prestigious award to date.
