Park History
This 4.5-acre park was acquired through the Park Land Dedication Ordinance in 2005 and was officially opened in May 2008. The project was funded in part by a "Fighting Obesity" Grant from GameTime Play Equipment. It features playgrounds, a pavilion with picnic area and a large natural area.
This park was named after David Lashley, a High School All American Football Player for Fayetteville High School and and lifelong philanthropist for local charities and service organizations. Many of his contributions include more than a quarter century of youth coaching in football, softball and basketball, twenty-nine years as a Fayetteville High School Booster Club Member, over twenty-five years as an officer for the Fayetteville Youth Center Board of Directors, a founding board member of Butterfield Trail Village and more than twenty years as a member of the Fayettevile Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
