Lake Fayetteville

Lake Fayetteville is comprised of 458 acres of land and 194 acres of water. In 1948 bonds were issued to construct Lake Fayetteville. The lake was completed in 1949. The lake was named Lake Fayetteville in 1950. The Beaver Water District was established in 1959 by Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers and Bentonville to provide the cities with treated water from Beaver Lake.

Lake Fayetteville is a fisherman's dream, and offers an abundance of recreational activities for the outdoor enthusiasts. There is a 5.5 mile nature trail.

There are several components of Lake Fayetteville including Veterans' Memorial, Boat Dock and Marina / Fishing, Lake Fayetteville Softball Complex, North Shore and the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks. There is a 5.5 mile nature trail around the lake as well as 2 miles of hard surface trail that, when completed, will circle the lake as well.

Park History

Lake Fayetteville Softball Complex is one portion of the total area owned and maintained by the Parks and Recreation Division. The complex of one field was completed in 1975 and two other fields added in 1981 with upgrades in 1985-1987 and 1989-2001.

Park History

Approximately 50 acres in size, North Shore at Lake Fayetteville is primarily undeveloped except for picnic amenities and restrooms. A trail connects to the perimeter lake trails.

Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Fayetteville

Veterans Memorial Park is located at 1350 E Zion Rd.

Park History

This 40 acre park facility is a natural paradise. On July 4, 1996, the south shore park at Lake Fayetteville was officially named Veterans Memorial Park at a special dedication ceremony with speaker Walter McKinney.
