2009 Be Active! Outdoor Adventure Camp InformationIf you are interested in learning and participating in exciting Outdoor Activities, this is the perfect camp for you. Fayetteville Parks and Receation and Lewis and Clark partner to bring you this exciting summer camp experience. In the Outdoor Adventure Camp, participants learn to participate in extreme outdoor activities available in Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas.
Activities planned include riding mountain bikes along Lake Fayetteville's 5.5 mile nature trail, climbing Lewis and Clark's 25 foot rock wall and maneuvering a kayak in Lake Fayetteville. Participants will also fish, hike, geocache, play disc golf and learn outdoor education lessons such as wilderness survival, animal tracking, shelter building and tree and plant identification.
At the conclusion of the week, campers will participate in a miniature Outdoor Adventure Race. In this final event, campers will utilize their newly learned skills to solve clues leading them to the finish line.
For the price of registration, each camper receives a T Shirt and a mountain bike helmet.
There are four, one week sessions for the Outdoor Adventure Camp. All camp sessions run from 9am - 12noon. Campers may be dropped off as early as 8:30am and picked up no later than 12:30pm. Space is limited to the first sixty-five (65) participants per camp:
Session 1: June 15-19
Session 2: June 22-26
Session 3: July 6-10
Session 4: July 13-17
Cost of the camp is $60 per week.
