Fayetteville Parks and Recreation has a wide variety of Recreation Programs we offer to the Citizens of Fayetteville. Our programs include soccer, slow pitch softball, fast pitch softball, baseball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, flag football, and a music festival. Every year, more than 60,000 people participate in our "Award Winning" recreational programs.
You may ask, What do you mean by award winning? On several occasions, Parks and Recreation has been presented awards by several organizations. In 2000, the Gulley Park Summer Concerts were awarded the Arkansas Parks and Recreation's Association Recreation Program of the Year. In 2001, the Youth Soccer Program was awarded the top Recreation Program in the State of Arkansas. In 2002, United States Speciality Sports Association named Fayetteville Parks and Recreation the top Department in the New South Region. The latest award, and quite possibly the most prestigious of all was presented in November of 2003 when Sports Illustrated named Fayetteville Parks and Recreation the top Sports Town in the State of Arkansas. A Sports Town was chosen based on grass roots community recreation programs in a community. With the collaboration between Parks and Recreation and community organizations such as the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club, Fayetteville Youth Baseball, and Fayetteville Disc Association, community sports are as healthy in Fayetteville as they have ever been. We hope you will come be apart of our "AWARD WINNING" programs.
