Due to concerns with the lingering effects from the recent ice storm, the Planning Division has elected to reschedule the Planning Commission meeting from tonight to Monday, February 02, at 5.30 pm. This meeting will be held in Room 219 of City Hall.
Due to the potential for inclement weather, the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, January 26 has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 29 at 5:30 PM, Room 219 of City Hall.
The Fayette Junction Master Plan Community Presentation scheduled for Tuesday, January 27 has been rescheduled to Thursday, February 5 at 6:30 p.m. Tours of BioBased Companies will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Two Fayetteville Historic District commissioners and Planning staff will share a proposal for a west Dickson Street local historic district with the board of the Washington County Historical Society on Monday, January 19 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at Headquarters House located at 118 E. Dickson Street.
A final community presentation of the Fayette Junction Master Plan will be held on Tuesday, January 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at BioBased Companies located at the southeast corner of Razorback Road and Cato Springs Road. Over 100 stakeholders participated in a charrette September 13-18 to develop the guiding principles for the future of the Fayette Junction area. During the following four months, Planning staff produced an Illustrative Plan and draft vision document that includes an explanation of the guiding principles as well as an implementation process, which will be presented on Tuesday night.
The City of Fayetteville will holds its Kick-off for the Fayette Junction Master Plan on Thursday, September 4, 2008, 5:30 p.m. at Staybridge Suites. Neighborhood stakeholders, elected officials and Planning staff will gather to officially begin the Fayette Junction Master Plan project. Denele Campbell, who published an article about the history of Fayette Junction, will provide a brief talk about the area, and food will be provided by Foghorn's and Pig-N-Whistle.

Long Range Planning Division seeks to hire an architectural intern or licensed architect to participate as a team member in a week-long community design charrette. The City intends to create a Master Plan for the Razorback Road corridor from I-540 to 15
th Street that sets forth a vision for the future of development in this area. The City is offering a contract of up to $800 to a professional who is willing to provide high-quality perspectives that depict the community’s vision.
The Fayetteville Historic District Commission will celebrate National Historic Preservation month at
White Hangar on
Thursday, May 8 at 5:15 p.m. Mayor Dan Coody will open the event with a proclamation recognizing Preservation month and the recent historic preservation efforts that have resulted in the designation of Drake Field White Hangar as Fayetteville’s first local ordinance district.
This Place Matters is the theme of the month-long celebration, which is sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The proposed rezoning for the Walker Park Neighborhood will be on display in the Planning office from April 14 to April 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The rezoning proposal was developed during a charrette held in the fall of 2007 and will be heard by the Planning Commission on April 28, 2008. The display will allow property owners and stakeholders to ask questions and give informal comments to planners before the first public hearing.
Duncan Associates has completed the study to update the existing water and sewer impact fees, calculate fees for the collection system, and calculate individual fees for Elkins, Farmington, and Greenland.
There will be a Community Presentation of the Walker Park Neighborhood Master Plan to be held Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fayetteville Senior Center, 945 South College Avenue.
The public participation process for the Walker Park Neighborhood Master Plan kicks off on Friday, September 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Walker Park pavilion with an ice cream social and historic tribute to the neighborhood. The charrette includes a week of events that are designed to allow all stakeholders to provide input that City staff will use to craft a vision and master plan document.
The proposed update to the current Master Street Plan will be available for public comment on Saturday, June 23 at the Town Center Plaza from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The rationale behind the update, the proposed street cross-sections and the proposed map will be displayed, so that citizens can take a self-guided tour of the project and provide written comments. The Master Street Plan provides a tool for classifying streets by the land use they serve and the volume of traffic they are designed to accommodate. The map also determines where future connections and streets should be built as Fayetteville grows.
