School Resource Officer Program

The goal of the SRO program is to protect and reduce the incidences of juvenile crime and delinquency. The SRO program is currently comprised of two officers that provide full time services to the Fayetteville High School and ALLPS. They also provide services on a call-by-call basis to all other schools in the district. The program brings a variety of police services directly to the school in addition to classroom presentations, mentoring and personal contacts to approximately 14,000 students on a daily basis.
School Resource Officer Summer Programs
- Y.C.P.A.- Youth Citizen’s Police Academy is a two-week academy for 9th – 12th graders who are interested in law enforcement and/or community leadership. Participants will attend several field trips including a tour of the Washington County Jail, Judge Gunn’s Drug Court, the Police Department and range. They will be taught several aspects of Law Enforcement such as accident investigation, crime scene analysis, defensive tactics, report writing and much more. - G.R.E.A.T. – Gang Resistance Education and Training is a two week, 60 hour academy for 5th – 8th graders. This training will be held at the Reynolds’s Boy’s and Girl’s Club and will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. Various topics including gangs, alcohol, drugs, goal setting, communication skills, career exploration and much more will be covered. Several field trips as well as lots of fun activities will be provided.
