Police Arrest Subject for Bank Robbery

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today that the Fayetteville Police Department has arrested one subject in connection to an armed robbery at a local bank.
On November 5th, 2010, at approximately 2:17pm, the Fayetteville Police Department responded to an alarm at 11 North College, First Security Bank, for a report of a Robbery. Officers arrived on scene at approximately 2:20pm where employees reported a masked male suspect had entered the bank, placed a box on the counter stating it was an explosive device and demanded money. The suspect left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Within fifteen minutes, the suspect was located at Block Avenue and Meadow Street with items in his possession related to the robbery. No explosive device was located.
Garry Lee MCKNIGHT, white male, age 53 of Fayetteville was arrested for Aggravated Robbery.
The investigation is continuing.
