FAYETTEVILLE POLICE CONDUCTS ALCOHOL COMPLIANCE CHECKS OF LOCAL BUSINESSES

05/04/2010

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the results of their directed alcohol enforcement.

On April 29th, 2010 Fayetteville Police Department participated in random compliance checks of thirty-nine businesses in Fayetteville.  Of those thirty-nine, employees at Wedington Liquor, Mojito’s Mexican Restaurant, and Olive Garden were found to be non-complaint and were issued citations for Unknowingly Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor at each of these locations.

The Fayetteville Police Department treats underage drinking offenses as a priority.  As such, the department has actively enforced underage drinking laws in Fayetteville for more than fifteen years now and its commitment has remained the same.  The Fayetteville Police Department will investigate and seek prosecution on those that provide alcohol to minors and will randomly check for compliance of those businesses responsible for the sale of alcohol in an effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.
