FAYETTEVILLE POLICE CONDUCT ALCOHOL COMPLIANCE CHECKS OF LOCAL BUSINESSES

11/23/2009

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the results of their directed alcohol enforcement.

November 11th, 2009 Fayetteville Police Department assisted by Alcohol Beverage Control, participated in random compliance checks of twenty-nine businesses in Fayetteville.  Of those twenty-nine, Jammin Java, Dickson Street Inn, and Emelia’s were found to be non-complaint and were issued citations for Unknowingly Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.

The Fayetteville Police Department treats underage drinking offenses as a priority.  We have actively enforced underage drinking laws in Fayetteville for more than fifteen years now and our commitment has remained the same.  We will investigate and seek prosecution on those that provide alcohol to minors and we will randomly check for compliance of those businesses responsible for the sale of alcohol in an effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.
