Kansas City Man arrested for Meth


Today, Fayetteville Police Chief and Chairman of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force Greg Tabor, announced the arrest of a man for methamphetamine possession.

      On March 24th, 2010, a Springdale officer and member of the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force, working highway enforcement on I540 near West Fork, observed a vehicle traveling northbound, taking up both lanes.  The officer conducted a traffic stop and during the course of the traffic stop, the officer found a large amount of cash on the suspect.  A Washington County Sheriff’s canine performed a sniff of the car.  The canine alerted, indicating the presence of narcotics in the car.  The vehicle was searched and during the search, officers located approximately 77.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine and additional cash.  The approximate amount of cash seized was $4000.00.

     Arrested was Sergio CALDERON-SANCHEZ, Hispanic male, age 20 of Kansas City, Kansas for possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (methamphetamine).

     The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force is comprised of Fayetteville, Springdale, University of Arkansas, Prairie Grove, Lincoln, Farmington, West Fork, Greenland, Johnson, Elm Springs, Elkins Police Departments and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. 

     This investigation is continuing.
