FAYETTEVILLE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN AGGRAVATED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

            Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of a suspect in an Aggravated Residential Burglary at 4181 N. Valley Lake.   

            On Sunday, February 24, 2013, at approximately 9:28 A.M., Fayetteville police officers responded to 4181 N. Valley Lake Drive #12 for a report of a disturbance.    When officers arrived, they discovered a subject had forced his way into the residence, and he battered a woman and stabbed a man inside.  Through the course of the investigation, it was determined Robert MATHEWS, black male, age 26 of Springdale, had kicked the apartment door open and attacked his ex-girlfriend, Ashanique Banks.   MATTHEWS then retrieved a knife from the kitchen and attacked Johnny Polite, cutting him on his left arm.    MATTHEWS then fled the scene after police were called.       

          On Tuesday, February 26, 2013, investigators arrested MATTHEWS for Aggravated Residential Burglary, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree.
