SPRINGDALE MAN ARRESTED FOR METHAMPHETAMINE

Today, Fayetteville Police Chief and Chairman of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force Greg Tabor, announced the arrest of a Springdale man for delivery of methamphetamine.

     For the past two months, members of the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force have conducted an undercover operation involving the suspect and the purchase of 3.4 grams of methamphetamine.  On December 30th, 2009, the suspect was located and arrested.

     Arrested was Darrel W. Smith, white male, age 38 of Springdale.  Smith was arrested for Illegal Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).

           The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force is comprised of Fayetteville, Springdale, University of Arkansas, Prairie Grove, Lincoln, Farmington, West Fork, Greenland, Johnson, Elm Springs, Elkins Police Departments and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. 

     This investigation is continuing.
