FAYETTEVILLE POLICE INVESTIGATE BANK ROBBERY

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a robbery of the Metropolitan Bank located at 4033 N. Shiloh Drive.
On January 14, 2012, at approximately 12:00 P.M., employees of the Metropolitan Bank at 4033 N. Shiloh Drive, called the Fayetteville Police Department and reported a bank robbery. The suspect entered the bank, produced a handgun and demanded money from the teller. The suspect was reported to be a black male wearing sunglasses and a dark tan hooded coat and was last seen leaving the bank on foot westbound with an undisclosed amount of cash.
At approximately 12:10 P.M., officers located the suspect near the intersection of Greg and Appleby. AMOS ERIC WATTS, black-male, age 23 of Fayetteville, was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and Theft of Property.
