NWA HIDTA Task Force Seize Marijuana


Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today that officers from the Fayetteville Police Department arrested a local man and woman for possession of 10 pounds of marijuana.  

On April 16th, 2009, A Fayetteville Police Officer working as part of the Northwest Arkansas High Intensity Drug Traffic Area Task Force stopped a silver Cadillac on Interstate 540 just north of the West Fork exit for a traffic violation.  During the course of the stop, the officer became suspicious of the two occupants when their stories did not match.  A search was conducted on the vehicle and 10 pounds of marijuana was seized.   It was later determined that the passenger of the vehicle gave a false identity to the officer.

Officers arrested Edward DANIEL, black male, age 27 of Fayetteville for Possession with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana), and Non-Financial Identity Fraud and Ashley WHITE, black female, 18 of Fayetteville for Possession with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana). Careless and Prohibited Driving, Improper Window Tinting, No Liability Insurance and No Drivers License in Possession.
