FAYETTEVILLE MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO STABBING

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of a Fayetteville man in connection to a stabbing.
On October, 7, 2010, the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of 1555 W. Martin Luther King Boulevard in reference to a reported stabbing. It was reported that the suspect asked the victim for a cigarette. When the victim did not provide one, the suspect stabbed him in the abdominal area and fled the scene. The victim was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center and underwent surgery for the injuries.
Arrested was Calvin D. Tatum, black male, 40, of Fayetteville, for Battery first degree. The victim identified Tatum as the suspect in a photo lineup.
