FAYETTEVILLE POLICE TO INCREASE PATROLS ON TRAIL SYSTEM

03/07/2012

Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the Fayetteville Police Department will have an increased presence on the Fayetteville Trail System.

With spring just around the corner, the Fayetteville Police Department will have an increased presence on the Fayetteville Trail System.   Officers will be patrolling the trails on foot, on bicycles, on ATV and on motorcycles in an effort to keep citizens safe.   While motorized vehicles are generally prohibited on the trail system, Fayetteville City Code 71.170 allows emergency vehicle use on the trails.   The use of the ATV and motorcycles will also allow officers to patrol areas of the trail system that are unreachable by vehicle.   Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity on the trail.
