Fayetteville Police Make arrest in Bank Robbery


       Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a robbery of the Metropolitan Bank located at 3971 W. Wedington Drive.    

      On October 9, 2013, at approximately 4:31 P.M., employees of the Metropolitan Bank at 3871W. Wedington Drive called the Fayetteville Police Department and reported a bank robbery.  Bank employees report a male suspect entered the bank, passed a note to the teller claiming to have an explosive device and demanded money from the teller.  The teller complied with the demands, and the suspect was last seen leaving the bank on foot westbound with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

      At approximately 4:50 P.M., officers located the suspect near the intersection of Broyles and Persimmon.  Zachary Robert PORTER, white-male, age 18 of Fayetteville, was arrested for Aggravated Robbery and Terroristic Threatening.
