New Fayetteville police officers graduate police academy


            Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today two Fayetteville police officers graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy.

            On Friday, June 21, 2013, Officers Charles McIlroy and Justin Faubus graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden.   The two began their career with the Fayetteville Police Department in March 2013 and started the academy on March 31, 2013.  While at the academy, they received instruction and practical application in the areas of criminal investigation, collision investigation, firearms, non-deadly defensive tactics, officer safety techniques, traffic law, criminal law, civil liability and other legal aspects of law enforcement, first aid, crime prevention, crisis intervention, and cultural diversity.  After graduation, they will receive an additional week of training on Radar and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing before they begin an eighteen week Field Training Program. 

            Charles McIlroy attained first placed in physical fitness out of sixty-six cadets.  

            The Fayetteville Police Department wants to congratulate these officers on their graduation and to wish them luck in the next phase of their training.
