FAYETTEVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED CAPITAL MURDER AND ARSON
Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today the arrest of a Fayetteville man for Attempted Capital Murder and Arson.
On Thursday, July 19th, 2012 at 2:58 A.M. officers responded to a house fire at 678 Martha.Responding officers reported the resident of the house, Terry Johnson, was severely burned. Johnson was transported by Central Emergency Medical Service to Washington Regional Medical Center for treatment. Johnson was later air lifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
The investigation led to the identification of a potential suspect, Donnie G. SMITH, who had recently quarreled with Johnson. SMITH was located and interviewed by detectives. SMITH, a white male, age 36, of Fayetteville, was arrested for Attempted Capital Murder and Arson.
The investigation is continuing.
