: FAYETTEVILLE POLICE ARREST MAN FOR DOMESTIC BATTERY FIRST DEGREE
Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today that a suspect has been arrested in connection with a May 28th domestic battery incident.
On Saturday May 28, 2011, Fayetteville patrol officers responded to the 1800 block of Neighborly Way for a report of a badly injured female lying in the street. Due to the severity of the injuries, the unidentified female was immediately transported to Washington Regional Medical Center (WRMC) by Central Emergency Medical Service. She was later identified at WRMC as Tamika Copeland.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned that Copeland had left an address in Fayetteville on May 28th with her boyfriend, Marcus BROADWAY, to buy diapers but had never returned. On Monday, May 30, 2011, detectives located BROADWAY and he agreed to an interview. Following the interview, BROADWAY was arrested for Domestic Battery 1st Degree.
Copeland remains in critical but stable condition at WRMC.
This investigation is continuing.
