UPDATE ON PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT
Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today that the department is investigating a pedestrian accident on E. Joyce Boulevard.
On Tuesday, September 21, 2011 at approximately 7:34 A.M., Fayetteville Police Officers responded to E. Joyce Boulevard in reference to a report of a vehicle that had collided with two City of Fayetteville Transportation Department workers.
Jo JACKSON, white female, age 51 of Fayetteville was traveling east bound on Joyce Boulevard, when she entered a construction zone. The outside Eastbound lane of Joyce was closed and signs warning of the construction and lane closer were in place. JACKSON’S Toyota Sequoyah was traveling east bound in the outside traffic lane. JACKSON failed to change lanes and ran over road cones before striking transportation workers Bradley Robbins age 34 of Farmington and Jackie Luper age 57, of West Fork. On September 22, 2011, at 1:15 P.M., Mr. Luper succumbed to his injuries sustained in the accident. The case will now be forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to determine if any additional charges will be filed.
