The Fayetteville Police Department hosts Family Safety Day.

The Fayetteville Police Department will be hosting a Family Safety Day on July 2nd at the Northwest Arkansas Mall.  The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and concludes at 6:00 p.m.

It is FREE to the public.  The event coincides with a larger event being hosted by the mall.  The mall event includes concerts at The Amp and a professional fireworks display.

Activities at the police department event include:

A children’s bike rodeo.  Designed to teach kids how to safely ride in their neighborhoods.  Please bring your child’s bike and bike helmet.  Some children’s bike helmets will be given away but the supply is very limited.  Trained technicians can conduct minor repairs on bikes.  We will also be fitting helmets.  (Course may take 20 to 30 minutes per child)

Police motorcycle skills course demonstrations.

Police K-9 demonstrations.

Emergency Response Team vehicle and equipment display.

One-on-One interaction with our officers.

Patrol vehicle hands on display.

Fire engine hands on display and interaction with fire fighters.

Ambulance display and interaction with paramedics.

U.S. Army vehicles hands on displays.

Child Safety Seat Checkpoint.  Families can drive up in the family car and have their child seat installation checked.
