Today, Fayetteville Police Chief and Chairman of the Fourth

Judicial District Drug Task Force Greg Tabor, announced the arrest

of three men for marijuana possession.

      On May 4th, 2010, a Fayetteville Officer and member of the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force, working highway enforcement on I540 near West Fork, observed a vehicle traveling northbound commit a traffic offense.  The officer conducted a traffic stop and, during the course of the traffic stop, the officer obtained consent to search the car from the driver.  During the search, officers located approximately 30 pounds of marijuana inside the trunk. Arrested was Thomas W. DeArmon, 55, of Houston, Texas. DeArmon was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.

     During the follow up investigation, officers determined that the marijuana was to be delivered to an address in Springdale.  A controlled delivery of the marijuana was conducted at 1410 C Crutcher in Springdale on May 5th 2010.  A search warrant was executed at that location following the controlled delivery.  During the search, the marijuana, $3700 in U.S. Currency and a shotgun were seized.

     Arrested from the residence were Alexis Javier Palomino, Hispanic male, 26, of Fayetteville and Omar Fuentes, Hispanic male, age 33, of Springdale.  Both were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (marijuana) and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.  Palomino was also charged with being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

     There will be a viewing of the evidence today, May 6th, 2:00pm at the Fayetteville Police department briefing room.

     The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force is comprised of

Fayetteville, Springdale, University of Arkansas, Prairie Grove,

Lincoln, Farmington, West Fork, Greenland, Johnson, Elm Springs,

Elkins Police Departments as well as the Madison County and Washington County Sheriff’s Office. 

     This investigation is continuing.
