Fayetteville Police Chief Greg Tabor announced today that the Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a shooting in South Fayetteville.

            On May 31, 2012, at approximately 5:33 P.M., Fayetteville Police were called to the intersection of Curtis and Fairlane for a shooting.   Fayetteville Police received several 911 calls stating that a vehicle occupied by multiple subjects fired a gun from the vehicle near the intersection of Curtis and Fairlane.   No one was injured during the incident, however a bullet believed to be from the shooting incident penetrated the bedroom wall of 1428 E. Huntsville Road.   Officers do not believe the residents of 1428 Huntsville were the intended target of the shooting.

Fayetteville Police detectives are aggressively investigating this incident and have identified Tyrone WELCH, black-male, age 28 of Fayetteville and Allen STEVENS, black-male, age 32 of Fayetteville as persons of interest.   Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Welch, Stevens or information about the shooting is asked to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 479-587-3555.
