Crisis Negotiation Team

The Fayetteville Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) was established in 1999. The original team consisted of five officers. Since its inception the Crisis Negotiation Team has expanded to eight members. The Crisis Negotiation Team goal is the preservation of human life and to seek out a peaceful resolution to critical incidents involving subjects who are suicidal, barricaded, hostage-takers or crisis situations through communication and negotiation thus minimizing the need for the use of force.

Negotiators train throughout the year and all members of the Crisis Negotiation Team are also members of the Arkansas Crisis Negotiators Association.
