Parking Deck Background
A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for professional design services was published in November 2011; eleven statements of qualification were received in December. The selection committee interviewed four firms, ultimately selecting the team led by Garver Engineers. This selection will cover all three phases of the overall outcome of a designed parking deck in Fayetteville's Entertainment District: Phase I, Site Selection and Preliminary Design; Phase 2, Schematic Design and Project Development; and Phase 3, Construction Administration Services.
On February 21, 2012, Fayetteville City Council approved the selection of Garver Engineers, LLC -- in association with Carl Walker, Inc., AFHJ Architects + KB Architecture, and Grubbs, Hoskyn, Barton & Wyatt, Inc. -- to provide engineering services for a Entertainment District Parking Deck (Resolution No. 42-12).
PUBLIC INPUT SESSIONS:
Three public input sessions regarding the site selection of the proposed parking deck were held on April 4 and April 19, 2012. Sessions consisted of a brief presentation, walking tour of the potential site locations, and a question and answer period. The PowerPoint presentation, project information sheet, and comments summary are listed below.
Project Information Sheet
A separate input session regarding the design of the deck and proposed options was held on March 12, 2013. To view the presentation, click here. More details of the deck's design will be finalized as it is staffed through the City's planning and review process.
