May 13, 2011 November 16, 2012 Cato Springs Road (Between S. School Avenue and Razorback Road)

This street is scheduled for full scale improvements, which will include widening, curb and gutter, storm sewer, and drainage improvements.  The project is funded by the Transportation Bond Program, as well as Federal Funding through A.H.T.D.

The duration of construction is estimated to be 18 months, weather permitting.  Utility companies are scheduled to relocate their facilities first, and the actual road construction will follow soon after that.  At this time, power line relocation is occurring, mostly on the north side of the road. No road closures or crossings are scheduled at this time.  Motorists are asked to travel with caution.  This notice will be updated as warranted.

May 14, 2012 July 31, 2012 Highway 265 (Crossover Road) (Between Highway 45 (Mission Boulevard) and Joyce Street)

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has informed the City of Fayetteville of planned lane restrictions related to work on State Highway 265 (Crossover Road) in Fayetteville. Over the next 8 weeks, traffic on Highway 265 will be restricted to one lane at isolated locations from Highway 45 to Joyce Boulevard to allow for the installation of drainage structures.  The restrictions are expected to be in place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  When the restrictions are in place, both northbound and southbound traffic will alternate using one travel lane.  Motorists will be directed through the work zone by flaggers.  Adjustment of the times and dates of the restriction may become necessary due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. The work necessitating the restriction is part of a project to widen approximately 2.2 miles of Highway 265 from three lanes to a four-lane divided roadway with a raised median between Highway 45 and Joyce Boulevard. In September 2011, the Arkansas State Highway Commission awarded a contract, in the amount of $12.6 million, to Nabholz Construction of Rogers for the project.  Work on the project is expected to be completed in early 2014. Motorists are urged to use care and think ahead when traveling through the work zone.  Motorists are encouraged to obey the posted speed limits and other regulatory signing, to leave room between them and other vehicles, to be aware of road conditions in front of them, and to anticipate the unexpected need to stop or reduce speed substantially.
