The Cone Patrol

The Cone Patrol is a list of street and lane closures, along with traffic delays resulting from various construction projects and events. Projects are in alphabetical order by street name. Please be aware that these dates can vary depending on weather and other delays.

Street Construction Updates

April 7, 2014 Mid October 2014 Halsell Rd (between Cross Ave and Sang Ave)

The City of Fayetteville Transportation Division will begin construction of a new sidewalk along the south side of Halsell Rd from Cross Ave to Sang Ave and continue along the west side of Sang Ave to Loren Cir.  Work is scheduled to begin Monday, April 7th and be completed in mid October 2014.  Along with the new sidewalk, other improvements include the installation of storm drain pipe, inlet boxes, curb and gutter.

Construction will require closing Halsell Rd (between Sang Ave to Cross Ave) and Sang Ave (between Cleveland St and Halsell Rd) to through traffic during work hours of 7:00am until 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.  Detour routes will be marked.  Local traffic will be allowed for residents during work hours.  Through traffic will be allowed during non-work hours.

September 8, 2014 October 8, 2014 Locust Ave, north bound lane (between W Center St and W Mountain St) Locust Ave, north bound lane (between W Center St and W Mountain St) will be closed intermittantly from September 8 - October 8 to remove and replace the concrete parking area.  Contact: Fayetteville Fire Department, Kevin Murray (479) 718-7632

September 29, 2014 October 17, 2014 Meadow St, east bound lane (between 75 feet east of Razorback and Meadow St Parking Garage Entrance) Meadow St, east bound lane (between 75 feet east of Razorback and Meadow St Parking Garage Entrance) will be closed September 29 - October 17, 7:00am - 5:00pm.  Closure is needing in the east bound lane to construct the enclosure on the back of the John McDonnell Track and Field Scoreboard. August 21, 2014 Unknown Randall Place entrance at HWY 265 The Randall Place entrance at HWY 265 will be closed begining August 21st and will remain closed until this project is complete due to safety concerns. CONTACT: Decco Contractors (479) 636-5516
September 29, 2014 October 24, 2014 Thompson Ave (between Dickson St and W Watson St) Thompson Ave (between Dickson St and W Watson St) will be closed September 29 - October 24 to replace a waterline, install new storm drainage and reconstruct the street.  Detours will be marked during construction. In general, motorists should anticipate short delays due to the on-going construction work.

September 16, 2014 October 16, 2014 Weir Rd (between Salem Rd and Howard Nickell Rd) Weir Rd (between Salem Rd and Howard Nickell Rd) will be closed from September 16 - October 16.
