For the last several years we have used the Woods End Laboratory in Maine to test out compost samples. The City of Fayetteville sends in a sample each April to determine the quality of the end product. The test reveal a lot about the compost including metals analysis, mineral analysis, herbicide presence, and other general characteristics like density, pH, and a classification type to assist with how to apply the compost.
