April schedule for distribution of mulch, compost & Bulky Waste Clean ups

The Solid Waste and Recycling Division is announcing the schedule for the rest of April regarding distribution of mulch, compost, and Bulky Waste Clean ups.

Mulch Distribution: Free mulch, made from downed trees from the ice storm, will continue to be available at the City’s Compost Facility at 1708 S. Armstrong Ave.  The hours for distribution are 8 am until 5 pm Monday through Saturday until further notice.  Residents of Fayetteville are still allowed to bring brush to the site during those hours but need to bring a recent water bill for proof of residency in order to drop off brush.

Compost Distribution: Compost will be made available for sale and distribution beginning Saturday, April 25th.  The hours will be the same as the mulch distribution.  The compost is $20 plus tax for one scoop.  Each scoop is approximately 2 cubic yards of compost.  The compost is only for Fayetteville residents and proof of residency is required.  There is a limit of 2 scoops per residence to ensure availability.  Compost will be available until supplies are exhausted.

Bulky Waste Clean Ups- Bulky Waste clean ups will be held on April 18th and April 25th for disposal and recycling of large bulky items.  The clean up on April 18th will be at the Solid Waste and Recycling Facility at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road.  The clean up on April 25th will be at two sites: the Elks Lodge at 4444 N. Crossover and Vandergriff Elementary at 2975 E. Township.
