Paper and Pills Event scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26th
Paper shredding and prescription medication event planned for 10 am to 2 pm
The City of Fayetteville and Project Right Choice are partnering to host an Paper and Pills paper shredding and prescription medication disposal event on Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the World Gym Parking lot located at 2035 N. College Ave.
The public is invited to participate in this service for proper destruction of secure documents and to help protect against identity theft. The Arkansas Attorney General’s Office advises Don’t let one man’s trash become an identity thief’s treasure. Shred or otherwise destroy any statements, documents, or records, which contain personal information after they are no longer needed. While many residents and businesses do not have a shredder, this free service offers something that can help many people in Fayetteville while also providing assurance that such shredded paper will be recycled. Even if you do own a shredder, this opportunity offers large-scale shredding with the use of a shredding van to serve our community. The shredding event is for Fayetteville residents only, and there is a limit of 5 normal-size boxes of paper for drop-off.
The prescription medication disposal event is part of the National Take Back Initiative 6 sponsored by the DEA. The prescription medication event accepts any unused, unwanted or expired prescription or over the counter drugs for proper disposal keeping these medications out of our community and away from children. The prescription medication event is for all residents, including those from outside of Fayetteville.
