 Ward 2 to Host Bulky Waste Clean Up on Saturday, May 2nd

 Bulky Waste Clean ups designed to accept large bulky items only

City Council members Kyle Cook and Matthew Petty would like to announce that Ward 2 will host a Spring Bulky Waste Clean up on Saturday,  May 2nd, 2009 from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm at the following locations: 

Woodland Jr. High School (7 E. Poplar St. in front parking lot) 

Church of Christ  (310 W. Center St.)

E-Scrap Recycling: Recycling of E-Scrap including T.V.’s, computers and all corresponding equipment will be offered through these bulky waste clean ups.  Please bring E-Scrap items to the Church of Christ site only.

There are limitations on what can be accepted, see below for details on the requirements.  Limit one (1) freon bearing appliance per household.  You must bring your current City water bill for verification of residency in order to drop off items.

Items allowed:                                                                                   

Couches, chairs, mattresses, large appliances, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, carpet, padding, vinyl flooring, drywall, paneling (Limited amounts only, no contractors allowed), lawn mowers, hot water heaters, plumbing fixtures.   E-Scrap: T.V’s, Computers, corresponding equipment (Available at Church of Christ location only)                                              

Items not allowed:

Household Hazardous Wastes; such as, paint, thinners, solvents, batteries, cleaning chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, automotive fluids, etc., household garbage, commercial garbage,  medical waste, dirt, rocks, brush, leaves and grass, tires.

Washington County operates a Household Hazardous Waste Collection center and a tire trailer.  The site is located at 2615 Brink Dr. in south Fayetteville.  The hours of operation are Mon. thru Fri. from 8:00am to 4:00pm.  The phone number is 444-1725.
