Dates for the City's Annual Earth Week Bulky waste clean up, and Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3 and Ward 4 Bulky waste clean-ups are now set. Please see the following for dates and locations. All clean ups begin at 7 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.
Earth Week Bulky Waste Clean up on April 26th-Fayetteville Solid Waste and Recycling Facility (1560 S. Happy Hollow Road)
Ward 1 on April 12th -Root Elementary at 1529 Mission Blvd., and Solid Waste and Recycling City Complex (1560 S. Happy Hollow Road).
Ward 2 on May 3rd - Woodland Jr. High School (7 E. Poplar St. in front parking lot) and Church of Christ (310 W. Center St.)
Ward 3 on April 5th - Elks Lodge (4444 N. Crossover) and Vandergriff Elementary (2975 E. Township St. Enter off Mission and exit out on Township)
Ward 4 on March 29th - Ozark Electric Parking Lot (West Entrance) 3641 Wedington Dr. and Shaver Foods Parking Lot (Behind Randall Tyson Track Complex) 1367 S. Beechwood

E-Waste Recycling - Recycling of selected E-Waste will be offered through these bulky waste clean ups. Please bring E-Waste items such as T.V.’s, computers, monitors and cell phones to the Solid Waste and Recycling Facility on April 12th and April 26th, Vandergriff Elementary on April 5th, Church of Christ on May 3rd, and Shaver Foods on March 29th. These are the only sites that will have an E-Waste box for recycling of E-Waste such as T.V's , Computers, Monitors, and Cell Phones.
There are limitations on what can be accepted, see below for details on the requirements. Limit one (1) freon bearing appliance per household. You must bring your current City water bill for verification of residency in order to drop off items.
Items Allowed:
Couches, chairs, mattresses
Large applicances; such as refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers
Carpet, padding, vinyl flooring, drywall, paneling (Limited amounts only, no contractors allowed.)
Lawn mowers, hot water heaters, plumbing fixtures
E-Waste: T.V.'s, Computers, Monitors, Cell Phones (Available at listed locations above only)
Items NOT Allowed:
Household Hazardous Waste: such as paint, thinners, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, batteries, cleaning chemicals, automotive fluids, etc...-

Commercial garbage
Medical Waste
Dirt, rocks, brush, leaves, and grass
Tires - Washington County operates tire trailer
Washington County operates a Household Hazardous Waste Collection center and a tire trailer. The site is located at 2615 Brink Dr. in south Fayetteville. The hours of operation are Mon.-Fri. from 8:00am to 4:00pm and the first Saturday of each month from 8:00am to noon. The phone number is 444-1725.
